The goal of these studies was to determine which system is the most precise. Leading LASIK surgeons conducted a professional study comparing the performances of these advanced systems, finding that Alcon's LADARVision® CustomCornea® offers better accuracy and quality of vision, as well as reduced night vision irregularities such as halos, starbursts, and glare.

Each patient included in the study had one eye treated with CustomCornea® and the other eye treated with another custom laser system. The CustomCornea® procedure produced superior results in terms of metrics and higher-order aberrations. The majority of patients incorporated in the study stated that the eye treated with CustomCornea® had achieved better visual acuity and quality than the other custom laser system. The above results have also been confirmed by other studies.
